Agreement

These terms cover your use of Craze. By creating an account you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything done by people you invite to your workspace. Keep your credentials to yourself and tell us promptly if you think they have been compromised.

You must be at least eighteen to hold an account. Craze is a tool for research professionals, not a consumer product.

What simulations are, and are not

A simulation is a well-grounded estimate of how a described group would behave in a described situation. It is not a measurement of what people did, and it is not a guarantee of what they will do.

Every result carries a confidence level derived from validation against held-out human responses. That level is part of the result. Reporting a Craze figure without it, or presenting a simulated distribution as though it were fieldwork with real respondents, misrepresents the product.

You are responsible for the decisions you make using these outputs. We are not liable for commercial outcomes that follow from them.

Acceptable use

Do not use Craze to build populations targeting individuals, to attempt to re-identify panel respondents, or to model people in ways designed to exploit vulnerability.

Do not use it to generate content presented as authentic statements by real, named people. Twins are models of groups, and attributing their output to an identifiable individual is prohibited.

Do not resell raw simulation output as though it were original human research. You may of course use findings in your own work and reporting.

Your content

You keep ownership of the populations, simulations and results you create. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service for you: storing your data, processing runs, and displaying results back to your workspace.

We do not use your research data to improve populations for other customers unless you turn that setting on.

Plans and payment

The free plan includes a limited number of runs per month, which reset monthly. Paid plans are billed in advance and are not refundable for partial periods, though you can cancel at any time and keep access until the period ends.

We will give at least thirty days' notice by email before a price change affecting an existing subscription.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice before removing something you actively rely on.

Termination

You can close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend an account that breaches the acceptable use section, and will tell you why unless doing so would be unlawful.

On termination you can export your data for thirty days, after which it is deleted.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability arising from these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost business opportunity.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Craze afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
